5th Nostalgic Aviator-Picnic

In the USA there is a long air-picnic tradition: touch down on a scenic landing strip, carrying a picnic blanket and a well-filled basket in the luggage compartment, and enjoy a great afternoon with aviation fellows.

The proof that this works also well in Europe, we have provided with the "Nostalgic Aviator-Picnic". More than 80 nostalgic aircraft and some modern machines came to hold an picnic under the wings. Several crews grabbed true to the motto their picnic blanket, some were even dressed appropriately and everyone had a lot of fun at the hangar party in the evening..

After a longer break, we are finally having a picnic again! And so, on September 6th, 2025 we invite all pilots of vintage planes, classic planes, and retro planes for the fifth time. All you need to bring along is your picnic blanket and camping gear for staying overnight. A well-filled picnic basket will be supplied to you upon arrival. Visitors registered in advance will receive a free picnic.

On Saturday night, a proper hangar party is waiting for you. You may spend the night in your tent under the wing. For those who prefer to have a solid roof over their heads, the local hotels offer special conditions (for more information please visit our homepage which will be updated soon). Before you head home, you may stay and enjoy our traditional Wershofen air show on Sunday.

Even though the registration is free for you, donations are welcome! We support the foundation "Fly & Help", which funds school projects in developing countries, with your donations, and which we support with our event.

We especially welcome again pilots of classic Cessnas like the tail-dragger models Airmaster, C120, C140, C170, C180, C185, C190, C195 and O1/L-19 Bird Dog, as well as early models of C150, C172, C175, C182, C210, C310 and C337 participating in European Classic Cessna meeting (in co-operation with the International Cessna 120-140 Association).

If you are interested to enrich our airfield festival with a presentation of your beauty, to tow historic gliders stylishly into the air or to drop skydivers from your classic plane, our airshow team (flugshow@flugtag-wershofen.de) will be happy to receive your response. Please specify the nature of participation and, where applicable, any expenses incurring for the performance. Usually we can’t take over the costs for ferry flights.
